Name:
Jolder (yol-der) 'Ladystealer' 'Kingbreaker' 'Clanstealer' 'Bormisson' 'Runeface' 'Runearmor'
Age:
45
Face Claim:
I don't have an exact face claim, but I do have characters from games that look real enough. I'll share the images I was thinking of. But if you want a face claim I can change it.
pbs.twimg.com/profile_images/462221349889400833/0gdfo_8v.png (Theres a reason as to why he has those runes on his face)
Loyalty (who they're sworn to):
Anyone with the right amount of gold, heading to Jon Snow now in hopes of being payed for as mercenaries
Personality:
Stubborn, charismatic, savage, and honorable. These are the words one would use to describe Jolder Runeface. He feels proud of himself despite the people he's killed and the women he's raped. Jolder wouldn't call it rape, it's the same way the Dothraki see lovemaking. He sees it as they do, and takes whichever woman he wants whenever he wants. Yet he understands that things are different outside the Mountains of the Moon. And will comply to a contractors rules if it gives him the coin.
Strengths:
Agile, strong, big, great tactician,
Weaknesses:
Stubborn, barbaric, weak when it comes to politics, tends to solve things with his fists... only... his fists
History:
Bromi, Clanchief to the Sons of the Runes, was the father of Jolder. He was a great leader in his time. But he began to weaken due to an illness, and so a rival clan member slaughtered him. Jolder was a mere 3 years old when it happened, and his brother was just a newborn The new leader Arnbjolf, took Bromi's wife as his own, and spared her children for he saw them as too young to remember the events. Not only that but he knew Bromi's wife would murder him in his sleep if he got close to them. Instead he became their adopted father. And so Jolder grew up believing Arnbjolf was his father. Jolder excelled at clan life. As was customary by the Sons of the Runes, Jolder received a rune tattooed upon his skin for every great achievement. He defeated Vale knights and took their armor and steel mail. In his honor, clansmen took the armor and inscribed it with runes copied from First Men artifacts.
Thus he gained his first last name (For among the Sons of the Runes last names are earned not given) Runearmor. His life continued normally until his mother, one day, told him and his brother about their real father. Not to spite Arnbjolf but simply because she thought both of her children deserved the truth. Infuriated, both brothers challenged all supporters of Arnbjolf to stand up and fight against them. Stories say they single-handedly killed thirty men. In the end both brothers tied Arnbjolf up, and cut each rune off his skin. Before both plunged their weapons into his flesh. Despite their victory, the brothers had halved their clan, and so they took to conquering other clans when they could. Along the way, Jolder had so many victories that there was no room for more tattoos but his face. And thus he earned his most prominent name, Runeface. When Tyrion came and hired the clansmen, Jolder took the chance to seize the other clans. By then he owned the biggest of the clans, until a nobleman took to the mountains to hire clansmen mercenaries as Tyrion had. The nobleman brought coin and drink with him to show his power. He threw a grand festival, and even got married, he spent all his money in hopes of getting all the clansmen to join him. During the chaos of the marriage festival, Jolder stole the nobleman's wife, and bedded her, as was the rule of the First Night
( awoiaf.westeros.org/index.php/First_night ).
Funnily enough Jolder said the wife didn't struggle, in fact, he said that the whole incident was her idea. The story seemed true enough to most, for the lady didn't seem to like her new husband. But the next morning the nobleman awoke to find his bed empty. He found out what happened, and with his alliances managed to set a small army on the foot of the Mountains of the Moon. He said he would take Jolder's head as well as the ones of the rest of his clansmen if he did not leave the mountains. So off Jolder went, but on one condition, he got to keep the lords wife. And so he did.He did not seem sad in the slightest to leave. Ironically, in the end Jolder and his men took to becoming mercenaries.
